sarp_ozdemiroglu
How do you know about shutter count on D70?
cfoo_foto
Get a free software like the latest version of IrfanView(google it.) open the last picture you took, Press I for info then E(or use the menu and go to Image to get Info) to view the EXIF data and scroll all the way to the bottom. Total Pictures gives a close shutter count. This method is not the most accurate and will not count the last few images that you erased or when you simply fire the shutter without recording images. but you could always take one picture and view the picture count on that. the latest version of IrfanView recognizes D70 and D2H as far as I know, but not the D1 series. hope this helps. marcofrancardi
i'm not quite shure, but if I well remember, I think that if you never reset the naming options in your D70, you should get something like "DSCxxxx.nef or .jpg" where xxxx stands for the number of clicks your camera has taken. during your the next download, pay attention to the screen. cfoo_foto
not sure about the D70, but on my D2H and previous D1 series, the counter maxes out and resets to DSC_0001 once it hits DSC_9999 or something.
dan_beauvais
If you are using iMatch image management software, you can set up a custom string in Options -> Preferences -> EXIF Here's what I used: Actuation #: {Image.EXIF.nik.Unknown (A7)} It'll yield something like Actuation #: 6,151.00 in the EXIF data window when you select a single image. I haven't bothered trying to strip of the silly two decimal digits from this integral counter. Cheers! Dan (DanBeauvais.com)
