I have become aware that photo.net are using my photographs, my name, my

information to promote advertisement for Canon. In RED underneath my

pictures, the name of the photo and then my name is Canon D20 (which I checked

in the information box along with posting my photo). When I click on it, I am

linked to a advertisement sight for the Canon D20 ETC!. Was this new action

announced to members and I missed the information ?

You should be able to delete the camera link under the photo title using the "Edit Information" function. Go into the edit screen and deselect "Camera Type" and confirm the change at the bottom of the screen. That should make the link go away.

In your equipment list, you might be able to create a new camera model such as "Canon Sucks, Nikon Sucks, Etc." It would be interesting to see what that links to :-)

As Bob stated, by posting here you give up some of your rights. Since I put my pictures under a creative commons license with restrictions on comercial use, I just don't post as much pictures here anymore. It's a decision we have to make, the rules are clear.

I'm a bad boy too, I infringe upon the Terms of Use when I access p.net from work since the companies firewall blocks all advertising. Luckily I have permission to read p.net at work, it is blocked for most users in our network.
