frank granovski
Someone contacted me today and asked me if I'd be willing to sell one of my 2 brand new Electro GSNs. I said, no. He offered me $400. I said, for me it's worth $600. He said, okay. I met him at the coffee shop a few hours later and became 600 Bucks richer. There you have it. Strange. andrew_hall1
How do I get hold of this friend of yours? I have a even younger Nikon FM (less than 30 years old, fully functional AND no battery issues) to sell him - I'll even give him a discount and take $500! ________1
"There you have it. Strange." Certainly is, considering you can by them in "like new" condition in junk shops for 20 bucks.
doris_chan
"600 Bucks richer. There you have it. Strange" Frank, you're the Sultan of Strange.
frank granovski
He's not a friend of mine. He said that he read some of my posts somewhere and looked me up in the local phone book. Now I only own 2 Electros.

terry_rory
Wow Frank you are a complete miracle me old mate! The best I could find on e-bay was this great condition Electro GSN for $75 'Buy it now' price.

doris_chan
I've just offered Frank $1000 for his remaining new Electro, but he's holding out for more. It's a real sellers market right now. Strange, very strange.......
cheec
On second thought, since you're going to buy Leica MP black beast and leica lens all the way, that $600 would pay for the Leica MP winder. Do it quick before Leica put up its prices. PS did you managed to get hold of the Sultan of Brunei yet?
frank granovski
All I have to do now is sell my 1974 BMW and then I'll be rolling for a MP. Gotta keep Leica in business, folks, otherwise they'll be no more Leica forums for flaming. Your lives will be over, then. ;*)
maik
Frank, don't let the other replies tick you off. I guess most of them are meant funny anyway. You are the best thing that happened to this forum for quite some time and I enjoy your posts a lot. Maybe this stranger knew something about your GSN that you were not aware of....(x-files music starts here...) But to get this on topic a bit more: you have been using the CL and that 40 'cron next to your GSN now for a few weeks. How do they compare? Any thoughts? cheers, Maik
frank granovski
I'm not ticked off. I expected these responses when I started the thread. Regarding the CL, I've only been taking a few pictures per day. I've been very busy but the CL is the camera I carry around with at all times these days. I just dropped off my second roll of film for processing today. It's color film this time. At this point I can't compare the pics from the GSN and CL. I guess that guy found out I had 2 brand new GSNs and just had to have one. Actually, I'm kind of sorry it's gone. I don't like selling my treasures. They're difficult to replace. I still miss my first Voigtlander Vitomattic 11.
gadge
Hey Trevor - Maybe Frank's one really had a dent free filter ring unlike the one in that advert. Do you think that seller needs eye glasses?
terry_rory
OK yes but is that a $525 dent?
terry_rory
How can one of these things cost $600 ? I mean that would buy a very respectable Rolleiflex (or minty Hexar 35 AF stealth) in the USA wouldn't it? Am I missing it here? Is a Yashica a cult camera or something? cheec
If it's too good to be true...He might have given you some monopoly money. But then again, (Kelis - Milkshake tune again) Your Electro was better than the rest, Damn right, it's better than the rest...
terry_rory
Should I be snapping up any nice stray bargain Electros I can find to fund my retirement? (If you have a BMW 3.0 CSL from 1974 then keep it. Far better than any Leica MP!)
cheec
No sell it and buy a MP. You can always take the bus.
frank granovski
It's a R75/6 motorcycle. I only had a 320i some time back when I was in the used car business. ;*)
frank granovski
Chee, I have both a car and a bus pass, although I rarely catch the bus. The sits are hard and made for little people here in Vancouver---unlike Calgary and most other major Canadian cities. Calgary, Oilberta's C-Train rocks.
