al_kaplan1
It's that time of year again, folks. A group of us went last year and had a great time. I made some good new friends of people that previously had just been names on the computer screen. We met at the armory, looked around at the tons of gear at the show, and then headed over to a local eatery called Jimmie's Place for lunch. Show hours are 11-5 on Saturday, 10-4 on Sunday. I'm thinking Saturday would be best, meet there at just before 11, and head for lunch after an hour or two. The armory is located at 13250 N.E. 8th Ave. in North Miami. Take 135th St. east from I-95 about 1.5 miles, or west from U.S. 1 (Biscayne Blvd.) just under a mile. Turn south on N.E. 8th Ave. and the Armory is about a block down on your right. There's plenty of free parking there as well as on the street and across the street at the N.M. Public Library parking lot. If you received a pink postcard in the mail from the show promoters it's worth a buck off the $6.25 admission, but the card says it'll be honored for each guest with the card holder so it makes sense to meet and go in as a group. I have a card ;-) If you have any questions email me. preacherpop42(at)aol(dot)com
Troll
It's coming to St. Petersburg (Largo) this weekend. Same deal. Honeywell's Minnireg building, as usual.
tom5
I was there last year for lunch but didn't meet the others for the looking. Meeting early is a good idea - a chance to learn as we browse. I'm looking forward to Jimmie's again this year!

dan_fromm2
Al, thanks for the news that its still on and for the directions. Also thanks for the news about parking. I'm not familiar with the area, had been wondering about that. I'll be in Miami late next week, will head north Saturday morning and stop briefly at the show. Can't go to lunch, am driving and have a ways to go that day. But if we can arrange to meet at the entrance Saturday at 11, I'd like to piggyback me and my wife on your pink card. If not, not. We're leaving late this afternoon, and of course I can't remember my photo.net password so will have problems responding via photo.net, but I'll look for posts from you during the week. And yes, I saw your e-mail address and may be able to send you a reply there. Thanks again, Dan
