steve_mitchell2
I have seen plenty of reviews of this lens but not seen sample pics made with this lens. Can anyone share pics taken with this lens in low light situations? I am taking pictures at parties using ambient light but need something wider angle than my 50mm 1.4. I would like to see how the 28mm f/1.8 compares and am not sure about wanting to invest in the $1k plus f/1.4 lenses. thx,Steve

rainer_t
-- "Not much to see in web sized picture..." the good thing about pixel-peeper is, the do indeed have full sized images. Rainer

steve_mitchell2
that helps tremendously.... I was trying to decide if I would save up for the 24mm f/1.4 or get the 28mm f/1.8 at 1/3 the price. Considering the differences, I think I go the less expensive route as this will can be accomplished sooner. (I believe in the saying: "The worst picture is one not taken.") thanks again
catcher
I got a 28 1.8 recently and have been very pleased with it. Some of the reviews I found online were luke-warm to it, but it's nice and sharp, quickly focuses and useable in low light. Compared well against my 85 1.8 in terms of sharpness (although the 85 was slightly sharper on the edges). If you need the very slight gain in aperture with the 1.4, otherwise I'll bet you'd be happy with the 28 1.8.
