vivek iyer
If you look at the right side of this page, you will see different classifications of topics. Go to lenses and check there. Just looking at the titles that fit one page of my screen, I found this: http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=008gCT As far I know, MTF charts for these lenses (i.e. 70-300mm from any maker) is not worth the bother. arnulfo_rosas
I would not bother buying any of them!. As per the consumer zooms, 3rd party lenses are crappy (...believe me, I once had a couple of Sigmas 70-300 & 28-300 and they were pretty awful). If money is not an issue you might be better off with a Nikon 180mm 2.8 ED-IF or a decent Nikon 70-300 ED. If your camera accepts MF lenses then a 105 2.5 + 200 4.0 will be unbeatable in terms of quality and price (ca $250 for both!). Do yourself a favor: do not waste your money in 3rd party consumer zooms, you will regret it!
vivek iyer
Soumya, If you can, buy a 70-210 instead. I know it is a shorter range. But better quality. Also, if you find an used 75-150mm f/3.5 E-series zoom (not AF compatible) grab it. One of the finset lenses from Nikon. Good luck! Vivek.
lex_jenkins
1. It simply isn't true that all third party lenses are inferior. Many of us have owned and used perfectly good third party lenses. 2. Only you can decide, based on *informed* comments from testers and users. 3. If you're in a hurry, don't buy now. 4. In my opinion, "superzooms" are overreaching themselves, trying to do too much and doing none of it well. I'd rather have a good, faster 80-200mm zoom than a supertelezoom.
