mskovacs
Ooooh a Hassy with a Distagon. Now you're making me jealous! They're not quite yet at dumpster diving prices yet... More Kodak colour negative film Gene?
gene m
ALAN Yes, I'm very ashamed of my Hasselblad. I've disguised it as a BIG DIANA. MIKE KOVACS Yup Color trans. film. It's a bear to work with. I'm not used to it.
cenelsonfoto
Gene, we don't get the snow cover that your New Englanders are afforded. I realize you hate the stuff, but my heart sings like a wire when white winter hits the deck. Your creeks seem to be graced with lovelier woods and boulders. Nothing wrong with these Ozarks, nothing at all, but the grass is always greener elsewhere and I can't help myself wondering. E-mail an address and I will kite you a print of my "portrait". gene m
When the snow first falls it's not so bad, especially early in the season. But we get sick of it after a while. It's just in the farking way.
mskovacs
Oh color transparency. Which type? Its tough to get the snow exposure like that and nail the rest of the shot as well but you really got it spot on in the first shot. Don't those big square chromes look sweet? janice_mackay
Hi Gene, It doesn't snow in my current place of residence, and I've never lived anywhere long-term where it did, so it's still enough of a novelty for me to appreciate. Enjoyed your pics, thanks for posting. :-) Janice M. (NZ)

gene m
Janice I was looking at your excellent website when I was struck by this marvelous quote. "Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again." Wow. janice_mackay
Gene: 'Mate'? :-) Glad you like the website. I had to take a lot of stuff off it recently to make room for other things. 10mb is not enough, one day I'll get around to finding a bigger space. Re the quote, I agree it's excellent, can't remember where I found it but it was credited to Henri Cartier-Bresson. Every time I read it, I'm inspired to get out there & photograph the things and people I see every day and take for granted.
mike_elek
Gene, I don't suppose someone knew you collected "antique" cameras and gave that Hasselblad to you on a whim?
