Perhaps you guys can help me

I see a lot of photographers are using this unique border style for

their photographs. Its a bit of Medium format looking border type. A

lot of wedding albums offer that border, but i am not sure what?s

the name for it. Perhaps anyone can tell me how to create that in

Photoshop.

What i used to do was, to take a picture and add about 40 pixels in

W and H....usually in black color. Then i would take my Lasso Tool

and edge out a a bit of that 40pixls black border so it looks all

around un even to kind of get the effect that i want.

This process takes me a long time to do, so i was hoping someone can

tell me a faster way to achieve this effect. I want to create a

template and just feed my images into that, so that i don?t have to

replicate this border for every image. Can anyone help?

Save the process as a Photoshop action, and replay it anytime you need it. Or, buy one of the commercial programs to do this for you. Or, create your own "sloppy border" by hand and scan it at a high resolution.
