paulh
Hi This is the second shot from my Zeh Zeca. And, another windmill, since there are rather a lot around here :-) This scan too is from the contact print. Attempts to scan the negative in two halves so far have not been too successfull, but I will try a couple more times. Once again, the negative shows far more detail, incuding the cable round the back of the windmill. I'll put this in the "Where I live" wotsit we've got going here. Now just need to finish the roll in the Iskra and get something from that as well.<div></div>
paulh
Whoops, forgot the details. 1/10s at f22, Maco UP100 Plus, tripod, no filters. About 1cm front rise. Paul
anton_v.
Nice shot. What film scanner did you try to use for the negative?
paulh
Anton, The scanner is an Epson 3170. The transparency lid is a little under 8cm wide at a guess. Paul
gene m
I've never been very happy with the level of detail in scans of negatives produced with my Epson 3200. Especially scans of 4x5 negatives.
jeff bishop
Here is a shot of the Art Museum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, shot with a Zeh Zeca camera. f/25 @ 1/2 second. Kodak Tri-x 320 Yellow filter (I used a hood that looked ok, but vignetted on the film, so there's a crop at the top & bottom). Scanned the negative in the Epson perfection flat bed, and inverted for positive (seems to work well enough).<div></div>
david_m
Nice shot, but it looks a little contrasty to me. It would look better with some detail in the sky. Probably an orange filter would have helped.
paulh
David, I'd agree with you on both points, but in my defence: - the scan is from a contact print "proof" as I have still to experiment to allow me to scan the negative (which I have to do in two halves - I need to make some sort of mask to make this easier). - the sky really was that featureless unfortunately, just a light hazy grey-blue. Even a red filter wouldn't have helped. Heck, even a polariser and velvia 50 wouldn't have helped! I could PS some clouds in :-) Paul
