Nikon N75 - Flash Cancel

I got my new Nikon N75 yesterday. My interest is to take (90%) photos

with natural light only..When i'm going thru the manual, found that

we cant set the Flash Cancel in P,S,A and M modes.

 

In one of the page, they've mentioned to manually close the Builtin

Speedlight while pressing the shutter..By this way, whether we can

make the flash to cancel in all modes..

Are you saying that the flash pops up when you press the shutter halfway in P,S,A or M modes in low light? That sort of thing only happens in the 'dummy' modes as far as I know - you know the ones with icons for portrait, macro etc.

I've not used my camera yet..Just gone thru the manual and got this doubt..i will confirm it by tomorrow.

If you want to cancel the flash, hold the flash button and rotate the control dial until there is a flash symbol with a line through it in the display. But the flash should not come up by itself in P,S,A, or M modes. Hope this helps.

The flash WILL pop up in AUTO and some of the other extra modes (not P, M, A, or S). Simply push it back down, as the manual says, if you don't want to use it for that frame.

I have had an N75 for about 2 months now...cool little camera to replace my 8008s.

The flash NEVER pops up when I'm on "A" "S" or "P" mode unless I tell it to. I have to

physically press the little flash buttong to make it do so.
