richard_ilomaki
Hello Just curious. I know AA's negs etc went to a University Centre of Potogrsaphy, but does anyone know what happened to his darkroom & equipment? Is it still in existance? Are others such as Allen Ross still using it for making prints? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks & Cheers
david_karp
Richard, A few years ago, before Mrs. Adams died, all of the equipment was still in his house. This includes that big horizontal 8x10 enlarger. We were told that Alan Ross and John Sexton still used the old equipment to make reproduction prints for the Ansel Adams books. The publishing trust worked out of the house. Perhaps it is the owner of the house, and things are all still there.
jerry_flynn1
I believe it went to the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona in Tucson along with his other archives.
ken_hughes4
Ross makes the special edition prints at his house, so he doesn't use adams' equipment and obviously not all negs are at ucp. I recall hearing that the house was going to be used for research and internships which involved selected students living at the house and using the equipment for furthering their studies/work. jay_wolfe
I've heard that Adams' son lives at the house now. Don't know anything about the equipment.
