scotty_lofland
I dropped my camera and it banged up my hot shoe, so the external flash will not slide into the shoe. Is this easy to replace or do I need to send it to Canon or a repair shop? Does anyone know of a good repair shop in D/FW? ThanksScotty300D
robert_gandy
You might try asking a camera store in your area...I have had excellent service from Canon Repair in Irvine CA....you can contact them on line or call directly....I had a 7 day turnaround on a sensor cleaning...under "Courtesy" Warranty.... stuart_vu
It's a easy DIY job.You can order direct from Canon part dept. to order a flash shoe call 732-521-7230. Part # CA1-6504-040 for about a little more than $6.00 each plus shipping from NJ. Just ply the flat coverplate by X-acto knife by the edge around the main electrical contact then careful use another small flat head driver slip it out of the place as you do with the flash, Now you can see 4 Phillip screws underneath, un-screw those screws and take your old shoe out then replace it with a new one, slip the cover in place and you're done.Good luck. stuart_vu
Canon, Irvine doesn't stock that part. I already asked them last time I visited there.
