fisheye
Does anyone has experience with Flektogon lens?

A few days ago, I bought a M42 mount Flektogon 35mm f/2.4 fromebay.
But I'm not sure about the optical quality of lens.

I have a M42 adapter for Nikon F mount (with built-in lens which willallow lenses to focus normally to infinity)
And I heard that the built-in lens will decrease Flektogon's lensquality. Is it true?

I need guru's opinion. Thank you. =)

Best regards
Sang Kyu, Han
vivek iyer
The converter/adaptor will decrease the quality. Since you have bought the lens, you are the best person to decide if this lens will suit your needs. Vivek.
fisheye
Vivek. Thank you for reply.

Yes. I knew Flektogon(Carl zeiss) lens is great lens.
But with Nikon SLR, it has one specific problem.

In Nikon SLR adapter, we have two choice.
With built-in lens adapter and without it. Without built-in lens it doesn't support infinity focusing but it'll not affect any optical quality.
But built-in lens adapter will support infinity focusing and decrease Flektogon's lens quality.

My question is.

1. If built-in lens would affect Flektogon's lens quality, how does it affect picture quality?
(It will affect color? contrast or sharpness? I need a small advice.)

2. And which adapter is would be good choice?
(If you had a choice, which adapter would be your choice?)
aardvarko
it will affect sharpness primarily, possibly decreasing contrast and introducing chromatic aberration
fisheye
Chromatic aberration? Oh I see.
It sound likes a big problem to me.

I think I have to choose non lens built-in adapter for image quality.

Thank you Chris. =)
