michael_moore5
Please GOD!!!! Someone tell me that my s2 isn't F&^% UP!! My Serial # is in the 24a. I have no power either with batteries or straight from the AC cord. I was shooting a wedding last night and everything was going alright. Left the church and went to the reception hall turn on the s2 saw that the batteries were low, turned off the camera and the display stayed on. Did everthing I could think of but still no power. Think GOD I borrowed my bosses 10ds, but I came home plugged it into the ac adapter and still has no power. If anyone knows anything please help. I just baught 24-70 2.8 sigma lens for $450 and I'll be pissed if this camera died on me. I'll switch to Nikon eventhough I like Fuji.
godfrey
It's a camera. Cameras malfunction. That's why professionals usually have one or two "backup" bodies, no matter what brand they own. Godfrey
Bill C
>> Did everthing I could think of but still no power. << Michael, did you think of replacing the pair of CR123 batteries? If not, just remove them and try it. Good liklihood this is all that's wrong. >> Think GOD I borrowed my bosses 10ds... << Good thinking; some people learn the lesson about backup equipment the hard way! garry edwards
If the CR123 batteries are dead then so is the camera. It will work without them, so just remove them and see if this works.
greg s
All the CR123 comments are on the money. The S2's main Achille's heal (coming from an S2 owner) is the power distribution. If a quick fix (C3123 removal) doesn't do the trick, remove all batteries and let the camera sit for 12 to 24 hrs. Then try a fresh set of AA's followed by new CR123's. It's possible that there is a stuck bit somewhere. Our Coolpix P&S went wacky and it was through a similar process of allowing the camera to drain charge that it was restored to health. Good luck! -Greg-
k_michael
Worse comes to worse, you'll proably need a new main board. Go to Fuji for this. If the camera is not under warranty, Fuji will charge you 600 bucks for parts and labor. I know...........I've been there. My credit card coverage picked up the tab.
