chris_clark2
Can anybody tell me what lens comes with the Hasselblad 501 cm?
richardw
If you look for the usual new kit it's the 80mm f2.8 CFE, but there can be special offers with different combinations sometimes.
chris_clark2
Is it better to buy new or used? It seems like it'd be safer to buy new, but I'm not an expert .. Might impress the girl more if new though????
richardw
If it's a present, she will be happy no matter if it's new or used, if you find one in good condition, I don't know why it should be new. A top condition 501 is still cheaper than if you open the original carton yourself and once it is in your hands there will be no difference. works similar :)

barclayphoto
With the prices of used medium format equip these days, why buy new? I just bought a 501CM with 80mm lens and two A12 backs plus a 45 prism non-metered finder for $1,500.00 in almost new condition.. Let's see i'd have gone to B&H and got this same equip new... about $5,000... it's your money....

chris_clark2
Jim, I'm not a looser(sp?) .. nice spelling on looser, loser. I can't help it if beautiful women seek my affections ... I also can't apologize for wanting the best for her?? C
ldw
When I bought my 501, I bought a "demo" that had been used but still came with full warranty, etc. It was essentially in new condition. Never had a problem with it.
