ninhtam
Hi, i accidentally search the web and bumped into Flickr:http://www.flickr.com/photos/71386276@N00/260642764/ There is a member theremade this customized bracket which holds two flashes and have them syncwirelessly (CLS). I'm wondering if anyone have tried this type of setup forwedding. I have tried with two SB-800 at home. The light looks good. Thanks Ninhtam
frank_skomial
In a dark church a large reception hall, this may not be enough. In such a case I connect a much stronger flash via PC sync cord, from the SB-800 connector on the side of the flash, like in the picture below. This is just an example with Sunpak 555, but some 1800 Wattsecconds flash would do better in a church. Make sure it does not contribute to the main flash light, as it can easily overpower the SB-800 in iTTL, while studio Strobe in full power Manual. Of course using e.g 3 or more SB-800 provides full automation.<div></div>
iskandar_azaman___kuala_lu
What really is the point of the bracket? Doesn't it do the same thing as a bouce card? Bounce up and some fill forward. What i don't understand with this particular guys set up is that he uses the more powerful flash for direct flash whilst the weaker flash does the bounce. Wouldn't it be more practical the other way around? And...wouldn't it be difficult to handle? And what about the vertical shots? How'd you adjust for that? Wouldn't there still be side shadows? ilkka_nissila
As for the power, the SB-800 is equipped with the scattering dome so the portion of light that goes directly to the subject is reduced. I'm not sure if this attachement fits the SB-600. This could be the reason for using the SB-800 as the "direct" component.
savagesax
I tried it many years ago and it wasn't what I was looking for regarding quality lighting. I altered my bracket. It was a modified Jones Bracket. Anyway it didn't work but the concept was interesting.
robertin_m
He's using the bigger flash (sb800) as a slave. The smaller(sb600) one doesnt work as a slave. The two flash set up would not work if the smaller one was on the hot shoe.
kiva
I had a local welder make a set up for me to for dual flash. Works great. See a sample of the welded unit at the bottom of my photos page here on photo.net in the secton called "Zinker" (near bottom). http://www.photo.net/photos/kiva
kiva
Sorry 'bout that. I thought you were needing info on dual flash units off camera instead of a bracketed flash attached to the camera. My bad.
