cpj
Yes, it will take a GE #5 or Sylvania #25 and, if using color film you'd want the "blue" version of the bulbs, #5B or #25B for color balance. Be sure you have the Sync set on the side which shows the icon for a Bulb and not a lightning bolt.
scott_hawranek
Wow! The price is $45.00 per dozen! Does any know of other manufactures that are currenlty making the bulbs or can you use an alternative bulb, that is, a bulb other than #5 or #25? Thanks! mike_elek
Scott, never mind. I thought I had some that I was going to give to you, but it turned out to be a box of flashcubes. Sorry about that.
roy_des_ruisseaux
Check out e bay there are some 25s now starting a $5.99 for 12. Also if you can find an adapter you could use m2's or is it m3s smaller but throw out a pretty good amount of light.
Greg M
Just about any flashbulb you can buy today will be old "new" stock. The Press 25B bulbs were made by Sylvania. It has been years since new ones were made. The "blue" part of the bulb is a thin foil-type covering. I can remember buying and carrying them by the bag-full on vacation! I would think the price today is based on the remaining stocks and they will probably only get more expensive as time goes by and stocks are used up. I am surprised you can still find as many types, although I'm sure the supply is extremely limited at best. If you want to "experience" bulb flash photography you need to do it now while you can.
