Elmar 3.5cm f3.5

I have a Canon 35mm F2.8 (the steel version, not the black type). Some people like Al (or is it Bill Mitchell) told us the Winogrand preferred a Canon 35mm, I don't know whether this is the one. Anyway, the glass on mine is pretty clear, but the pictures it produce are still very low-contrast and slightly fuzzy. Kinda like the summar.

I used the 35mm f/3.5 Elmar for a while. It was decent when stopped down to about f/8, but suffered from vignetting when opened to wider than f/5.6. It didn't have the Summar softness, but more closely resembled the 50mm Elmar in image quality. Eventually I replaced it with the excellent 35mm f/3.5 Summaron. I do not know of any 35mm Leica lens with the Summar characteristics.
