marc_de_landsheer
I own a Konica Hexar RF with 50mm f1.2 lens. (the Limited Edition). I never used it, and it is for sale. However, how does this camera perform ? Is it so good that I should keep it ? I found some pics on the net from similar lenses/bodies but non of the hexanon 50mm f1.2 that I own. Any links ? Comments ? I might keep it after all and buy an extra 28mm for it.

joop
Marc, Have a look at the discussions at the hexar user group at Yahoo! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hexarRF/ I also use a hexarRF (non-limited-ed.) and like it a lot. The 50/1.2 is suppost to be a very good lens, if I remeber well from what I read on the yahoo list. I think it's quite simple to find out wether you like the performance yourself; just buy some film! Good luck with it,JOOP
marc_de_landsheer
Thank you all for the help. I guess you're right I'm simply going to shoot a film an see if it is my thing ...
d._p.1
i always thought the 0.6 (or thereabouts) magnification and 50/1.2 is a useless combination. Looking at your pictures (at least the ones you've posted) it doesnt look like you want f1.2. I would be interested in the lens though. http://www.fotolog.net/clickmaniac and / clckmnc have a couple of my recent pics, that should give you an idea of how i would use this lens. Contact me if you're interested in selling it.

marc_de_landsheer
@ D.P. My posted pictures are not representing. I just bought the Hexar Limited, because I liked the kit anyway with the spectacular looking lens. If I can sell the kit for a decent price I will do so. But i'm not going to sell it at a bargain price.

jerry_lehrer
Marc De, I cannot see why it is important to have a spectacularly impressive looking piece of photo equipment. I would rather have an ugly looking piece of equipment that produces spectacularlly impressive photographs. Jerry
nathan_dandar
I'll buy it! I'll trade you for a digital SLR plus $700. ;)

kevin m.
Sweet. A newcomer asks a question in what, I'm guessing, is not his native language and gets jumped by all the sisters in the sorority. You're right, Al, this forum is sometimes too funny for words, but not in the way you meant.
terry_rory
Marc, it will not effect the value of your impressive sounding kit (I am Jealous) if you run a few films through in conditions it was designed for. (Available light or indoors with no flash.)
h_kan_th_rngren
Try it indoors at various full or close to full opening and see if you like it. Try some outdoors at more modest aperture (5/6-8) too, and why not open it up outdoors too (for short depth of field), that shutter goes to 1/4000 (two steps faster than a Leica M). If you like it, keep it and get a Hexanon 28 as a companion lens. A 28-50 setup is what I like best, though my 50 lens only goes to 3.5... I am very jealous too... gerry_szarek
I own a Hexar RF and love it. Better than the M7 and cheaper IMO. Gerry

karl_keung
I also love my Hexar. I have no problem focusing 50mm lens with it. Anything higher you might have problem. Maybe Konica should produce a 0.85 one like Leica is doing now. Or an external 1.25 viewfinder perhaps? (Hexar AF is now a cult camera, and the RF version is becoming one too, especially it is now discounted.)
icuneko
Marc: Your Hexar RF with 50mm f1.2 is truly a piece of junk. Get rid of it. Mail it to me; I'll even pay the shipping. Karl: The Hexar AF is not a "cult camera." It is a film camera ;) and a darn good one at that.
