zone4
I received a reply today from Rachael Hall at Filmguard re minimumorder and cost. There is an 8000 (+/- 2000) sleeve minimum at cost ofa little over $300 for 1000. As I mentioned before in the originalthread, it would be better logistically for someone stateside to oversee this acquisition (customs etc.). I will start the ball rollingby pledging for 500 (1000 if we really need to!). I am pasting inRachael's reply to me below: (Clay gave me a phone number for Rachaelwhich I seem to have manged to lose - maybe Clay will be kind enoughto supply to whoever wants to look after this?) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Hi Richard,Here is the quotation you requested.7 1/8" x 17 1/8" Clear Open Sleeves - 500bx $154.95each8000 sleeve minimum, with a plus or minus 2000 sleeves (variance)2 weeks lead time.Best Regards,Rachael HallCustomer Servicerhall@filmguard.com>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
george_stewart1
http://www.lightimpressionsdirect.com has many interesting items that might help you out. For example, Polyester Film Roll, 40" x 100', 1 mil is cheap enough that you could make your own envelopes at a fraction of the cost of what your looking for. Also, their TransView? Sleeves in 11x17 could work as is or be trimmed down to fit more exactly.
victor_loverro
You can order sleeves from Impact Images in quantities of 100. I am curious. Is there a reason to need to place such a large order? Or are the sleeves special?
david_du_busc
I note sure why you are so keen on custom sizes.... unless you want to waste your money. 16x20 Print File sleeves cut in half and then trimmed down have worked well for my 7x17 negs. 30 bucks or so for 100 sleeves>>> which yields 200 after cutting. zone4
Thanks for your responses above...there are definitely some cheaper alternatives apparently! Cutting down bigger ones will work fine...
