erik_h1
Short story: can someone PLEASE take a measurement of how far the cable release sticks out from the body of an Eos 3, 10 D, or D 60? Please be as exact as possible, from the widest point of the camera body to the furtest point of the cable release plug, and/or the total width of the camera body with cable release plug inserted, at the widest point possible.(somewhere around 6.5"?) Long Story: I'm making a underwater camera housing for the EOS 3. A body which I own. I took all the exact measurements of the body dimensions, but I need to leave enough room on the interior of the housing for the remote switch to fit. I don't own a remote switch, and was hoping someone could help me with this measurement. A micrometer would be helpful, but a good eye and a ruler should work as well.THANKS! theodore_coffey
You really should buy the remote switch and not rely on a possible mistake by someone else measuring for you.
warren_x
I assume you mean the RS-80N3 cable release? If so, then it sticks out 16.5mm from the edge of the socket for the cable release (on an EOS 3). From the widest point, which is where the film door latch is, it's as close to 0.5" as I can tell, but it's impossible to measure this with complete accuracy.
