harold_lassers
Does anybody have any experiece using an Angle Finder B on an E 10D, or any other newer camera (E-20D, Digital Rebel, Elan 7) I'm tryingto be a bit cheap here. I see angle finder B's available used for $60vs $180 for an angle finder C. I want an angle finder for occasional use. Thanks for your comments. agargano
Harold I picked one up [angle finder B] on e-bay, it works just fine on my 10D and my rebel.......... Angelo
JosvanEekelen
Angle finder B was originally sold with an adapter for the A-series cameras, this adapter can also be used for the Rebels and 10D. For other cameras like the EOS-5 and -30 another adapter is needed. The latter is -for its size and weight - a very expensive piece of plastic. BTW if I'm not mistaken the F1 takes the Angle Finder B without any of these adapters.
robin_sibson1
Jos, you are correct. The AF-C has proper metal adaptors for both Eb/Ec (non-ECF) and Ed (ECF) eyepiece types, but they themselves slide on rather than screwing on, and in use it is very easy to find yourself taking the AF off the adaptor rather than the AF+adaptor off the camera. So if you are using any Eb/Ec camera, Harold, and you do not need the magnification capability, the AF-B will be an excellent choice. Both AFs work particularly well with the 1.6-factor cameras because they see the smaller viewfinder easily, whereas with the 1-factor cameras it is certainly very hard to see the information in the viewfinder. markus_franke
Furthermore, you might want to try the minolta angle finder. It fits on the 10d and has a 1x/2x magnification. They sell used for about 80EUR in Germany, not sure about your place. This might be an alternative if you do some macro shots or similar. Have fun, Markus

lotsawa
Thanks to this thread, I just bought an AF-B on Ebay for about 1/3 of the price of a new AF-C. It fits great on my 300D! You can also use it without the camera to spy around a corner ;-)
