marty_elan
Since I am new to digital imaging, can you recommend some good books on the subject. I have been dinking and dunking with Adobe PS 7.0 that a friend of mine gave me when he went back to film. I feel like a fish out of water. My safety net is my 20+ years in the world of film so taking pictures is not an issue, but after I download the images for tweaking, I am lost! Thanks. diana
I am a big fan of Scott Kelby's books. Check out "The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers". I think this book explains how to use Photoshop in a logical and easy to follow along manner.
Diana
Nikon Fanatics at Leoville
tom_herron
I really like Rick Sammon's "Complete Guide to Digital Photography" (ISBN 0393325512)---at first I thought it would be too basic but it has proven itself to be a great tool for learning photoshop. It's not cheap ( I think it's about $30 at Amazon) but it's a thick book packed full of stuff and I believe it comes with a CD with some PS plug-ins. bryan_lardizabal
If you truly intend on spending any significant time manipulating images in Photoshop, then a class is a must. Books may get you started, but there are several online courses through lynda.com or totaltraining.com that are excellent for any skill level. My wife is a graphic artist with 10+ years experience in Photoshop and still has to train to learn the latest techniques as new versions of this software emerge....
