nee_sung
Hello everybody I'm looking at a used Plaubel Proshift. One thing that I have not beenable to get an answer is: how can I tell how much shift is correct? Ihave tried it with buildings in front of the camera shop but theviewfinder couldn't really tell me very accurately, it would seem. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you all in advance. jackflesher
I had one of these several years ago. The moveable finder was only good as a rough estimate of final framing, and in reality usually generated over shifts. Thus it was simply a matter of developing a "feel" for the camera and how much shift (or rise) to apply.
mark_eban
I have used this camera quite a bit for architectural purposes. The key is to level it first using the built-in spirit levels and then to shift up until you the vertical edge of the object parallel to the viewfinder line. I find doing this by eye gives spot on results but I agree it may take a bit of practice.
