per_volquartz1
A couple of weeks back I purchased your 42 year old 50mm f1.4 Summilux. Its a great lens. Thank You!<div></div>
gaijin
Per, Beautiful shot. I like the tonality. I'm glad to see the Summilux has gone to a good home, and obviously is getting put to good use. Best regards, Don
__jon__
Uh-oh... a large format photographer with a Leica--what next??? :D
per_volquartz1
Jon... What's next? Try a Leica M with a motor drive and a pin hole cap (f128). Set up strobes in your studio - or at home - balance the output to f128 and shoot portraits! No focus, no f stops to set, just aim! Fun, fun, fun! :)
capocheny
Per, Great shot...great tones! I'm in the same boat you're in...I also shoot LF (Sinar X) but am enjoying using the Leica M cameras. Post some of your F128 portrait shots... it'd be great fun to see. Cheers
michael_j._kravit1
It seems many of us LF shooters enjoy our Leicas. My M7 is only a few months old and it goes everywhere with me. This past weekend I shot 80 sheets of Polaroid Type 55 and yes, the Leica was there. Great camera, fine lenses and a lot of fun. It even captured a historic moment recently, my wife drunk as a skunk! ben z
Per, my Summilux is from the early 80s but probably the same optical formula as yours if it's from '62 (you said 42 yrs old). I'm glad to see I'm not hallucinating that it's a very sharp lens. There are a lot of bad writeups of it, even more now that the new $2500 ASPH is here. For me it was the best $600 I ever spent on Leica equipment. I almost never use the Summicrons anymore.
