edith_beerdsen
I'm going to buy a Nikon F80 and would like to have it adjusted so that the film leader remains outside on manual rewind. I know that this is possible (have had it done before on my previous camera, also Nikon F80), but I don't know of any place in The Netherlands where it can be done. Does anyone know who can do this (preferably around Amsterdam)? I have heard of the Nikon service center or something like that in Haarlem; does anyone know if they are able to do this? Any other place?
lex_jenkins
I once left my leader out in Haarlem. A week later it was at my front door in Fort Worth.
Jerry_
Go to www.nikon.com and see where a Nikon repair center is located (in your area) or in Europe. The modification can be done, but the place to have it done is up to you.
jim mucklin
You two guys got to stop it, Im getting my leader wet. I can't find my manual rewind switch on my 80???? Sorry for the poor humor, I can't answer your question. You might check out the Nikonians site there are some posters there from Holland.
edith_beerdsen
:-) Is there anything wrong with my question? Any stupid mistake? (I'm sorry, I'm not a native English speaker)
john_stockdale2
Nothing wrong with the question. It's just these guys. In my country (Australia) a few camera repair places can do it, and the Nikon distributor in one city can also. I would suggest the Nikon distributor in the Netherlands would be a good place to start.
lex_jenkins
My apologies for taking liberties with the idiomatic and idiosynchracies of American English, Edith. I didn't have a real answer to your question but I couldn't resist the opportunity to offer a mild jest. (And the rest of you guys get your minds out of the gutter.) walterh
edith - I am not too far from holland in germany. i wanted my F5 set to leave the leader out but it would have taken too much trouble (drive about an hour, wait an hour and drive back , since i did not want to mail the body just for that) and the cost was about 50 euro . now i just rewind by hand if i need to. i take it the F80 has no manual rewind? if there is no nikon.nl page try nikon.de and you get a list of service centers in germany. mail cost will be almost the same. cheers walter
