amber1
I recently did an outdoor shooting and when I uploaded my files, I noticed that they were very grainy when enlarged. Upon inspecting my camera(Canon 300D) I realized that somehow my ISO had gotten changed to 400 rather than 100 where I usually shoot. Is there anyway to reduce this graininess in the pictures I shot that day? I use PS7 and the only thing that I could think of was the despeckle filter which made the picture a little to blurry. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
don_cooper
It's not grain, it's noise. One of the noise reduction programs (neat image, etc.) should solve your problem. Most have demos available.
jimvanson
The way that Noise Ninja or Neat Image Pro gets rid of noise/grain amazes me.
bill_tuthill
It's not noise, it's Canon-provided texture. ;-) <BR> Best way to fix this without buying additional software is to magic-wand and/or lasso select the noisiest areas, shrink selection, feather edges, then do a Gaussian Blur. Usually it's best when blur radius, feather and shrink distance are the same.
steven_clark
There might also be some contribution from the on-camera sharpening. If you have that turned up you might want to set it lower.
