adrian_littlewood1
Hello, I have just happily inherited an early 1960s Rolleiflex 3.5f with a set of accessories (filters, hood, macro lens). I also inherited some Bay 3 mutar lenses. Turns out my grandfather was a MF nut and he had a 2.8F a 3.5F and a Hassie. The 3.5F is the only one left as the others were sold when he died. I have noticed that the viewing lens has some fungus on it (the shooting lens look fairly clear) and I will get it serviced as well even though it appears in otherwise mint condition. I live in London and I noticed that there are some posts here about a good repair shop called Camera Repair Services in Islington. The phone numbers I have for them don't seem to work now, and I wondered if someone had another recommendation for a reputable London repair centre for Rolleiflexes. Also as a side question what are the bay 3 mutar lenses worth? I may sell them to finance the service. Cheers Adrian
adrian_littlewood1
Arghh one more thing. This is a long shot, but are there bay 2 to bay 3 adaptors?
roger_michel
jessops classics in pied bull yard (across from brit museum) has access to a very good rollei repairman. they may refer you directly or act as (paid) middleman. as for the adapter, i have never seen a bay ii to bay iii adapter, but experience teaches me there is one. there seems to be an adapter out there for every conceivable combination. if you don't mind using two adapters, i can think of various combinations of bay ii to x and x to bay iii. if that appeals to you, email me. adrian_littlewood1
Thanks guys, I have spoken to Brian and he has been very helpful. I am going to pop in and run through the options with him. FYI he also mentioned that he thinks there is a bay 3 to bay 2 adaptor ring somewhere. amir_ziv1
Hi Adrian, Regarding the Bay 2 to Bay 3 Adapter (or the other way around) - I have had a very good experience with SRB Film Service. They are a small factory that seems to have an endless amount of filters (and I think they also do customized filters if needed). They have top quality products, a fair price and excellent service. Anyway they are located in England, which will probably help you. Try them out at: www.SRBFilm.co.uk Enjoy, Amir
