frederick_lau1
I just obtain a used F3P and MD-4 but without manuals. Could anyone suggest links where I can obtain/download manuals of F3P and MD-4 for free ? Also I would want to know you opinions on F3P as compared to other versions of F3. The serial number of my F3P starts with 901xxxx, what is the year of its manufacture ?
susan_smith5
If you don't get your hands on them, start here --> <a href="http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikonf3ver2/index.htm"target="_new">http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikonf3ver2/index.htm</a><br>
christiaan_phleger___honol
As another owner of an F-3P, I was told that the P was made in 2-3 batches of 5000 each. The first 5000 were covert, only for Japanese acredited press photographers, and were coveted by the few who often got several, and some sold them off. The word spread and Nikon responded by offering another batch of 5000, then the next 5000 were made to be the F-3 Limited. I got mine in 93, spring I think, and I think I actually heard about it from a fellow photojounalist around mid-late 91 or early 92. He had a Japanese friend from the Adams Barnstorming Workshop who had 2 and he sold me one.My serial is 9004xxx. For what its worth, mine has had a solid life of full-on use, these are the toughest of the tough, and lots of photos are yet to be made even if it is a worn body. Also, upon examining the parts list and repair diagrams, the F3T is mostly built the same, (except for that hot shoe, higher shutter dial, no double exposure switch, etc and that squishy shutter release ). Greg M
You can probably still buy F3 and MD4 manuals from Nikon. I did a few years ago when I bought my second-hand F3. I want to say the two manuals cost me around $20 total.
