madhu_sudhan_kanderi1
I have a NIKON F70. I am not able to change the setting of Focus Mode AF-S or AF-C from MF(Manual) Focus. I have AF D Type lense 28-80mm. I removed the lense when the camera was in on poisition and attached the lense back, that it the only thing I remember doing. Any advise on how to get the camera back to auto focus Mode will be of great help. Thanks in Advance.
arnold_theisen1
The AF-S and AF-C modes are only available when the camera is in autofocus mode. If you move the focus selection switch on the front of the camera from M to AF, then you should be able to select AF-S or AF-C.
madhu_sudhan_kanderi1
Tried doing that also, moving from M to AF and then setting the focus mode. No use still showing Mf.
todd peach seattle, washi
Try cleaning the contacts between lens and body. Sounds like the camera doesn't recognize that it's an AF lens.
constance_cook
Madhu: Do you have the lens turned to the smallest f-stop and the orange tab locked? That has to be done for the F70 to recognize an AF lens. Conni
madhu_sudhan_kanderi1
Thanks for all those responded. I tried cleaning the contacts between the body and lense. Now it is working now. Thanks, Madhu
tony bell
Conni, That's not correct. It will identify AF in any f-stop. What it will not do is shoot in program or aperture modes unless it is locked in the smallest stop.
constance_cook
Tony: Did you try it? Mine isn't. I may need to clean the contacts or try another lens. Conni
constance_cook
It's not the lens! Something is wrong with my F70. I haven't got time to figure it out now because I have to go to work. This will drive me crazy until I can get time to sit down and get the answer to the problem. The camera has about a zillion miles on it so it may just be time for some work. tony bell
Conni, Yes, I shoot my AF lenses in any f-stop all the time. Sorry to apparently be the bringer of bad discovery. Hope you solve your problem. Tony
