bill_hummel
I purchased a Fuji 680 used several years ago. I tried using it the other day after not having used it for many months. I can not get the shutter release button to operate sometimes. I light flashes on the camera indicating something is wrong. I replaced batteries, checked to make lens is secure and played with the rotating back and slide but nothing works The funny thing is a couple of times it started working but when I set up to shoot it stopped again. Also the LCD on the film holder does not work; could this be because of an internal battery that is not working. The reason I say this is because when I was having problems with the camera I looked at the manual and it talked about a five year battery that the manual says needs to be replaced by FUJI technicians!!! Does any know where on the camera this battery is? Thanks Bill
djphoto
Not sure about an internal battery in the body. There is one in each back -- I had to have one replaced a few months ago. Can't say for sure if that's your problem, but it's not an expensive fix.
cameron_ertman
Make sure all of the contacts for the battery holder are clean. You can use the eraser from a pencil to rub the pos. and neg. contacts to ensure they are spotless. I'm not sure if that is the problem, but I do know if electrical equipment sits for some time(especially with batteries in place), the contacts can get some oxidation on them that you may or may not be able to see...if it is contacts, an eraser will do the trick. james_minenna2
Good advise - I have recently begun to have trouble with my shutter on my 100mm lens. I'm going to give a more thorough cleaning a go before sending it off... *here's me crossing my fingers*
