Smallest flash for 20D

What is the smallest flash that will work on the 20D? I need one just

for small areas. I have the 550ex. The on camera flash is not quite

enought.

I think the smallest canon is the 200EX. Its like a 100 bux and it doesnt swivel or bounce or anything if I remember right.

<p>I can't speak to any third-party flash units. The smallest Canon flash that will work on the 20D is the 220EX. It's roughly twice as powerful as the pop-up flash. It doesn't cover as wide an area (I'd look up the specs and tell you if it's 28mm or 35mm, but Canon's Web site is broken again). There's no tilt or swivel. The AF assist beam covers only the central AF point.</p>

If you don't care whether you get a Canon or not, there is the Sunpak PZ40X flash. Its small and cheap, and uses E-TTL.

But still . . are you SURE you don't want bounce flash? The 420EX is a fine unit. . .

I have to agree with Jim - the 420EX is a pretty nice flash. It is not the smallest, but it is smaller than the 550EX and you can pick them up relatively cheap. Additionally, you can trigger the 420EX with your 550 if the need should arise. - Just my thoughts.

I have the 220EX, 420EX and 550EX. I only use the 220EX when I am shooting outside in daylight as a fill flash. The 420 is significantly smaller than the 550EX. I would get the 420EX so you can bounce the flash.
