roger mitchell
My AF Micro-Nikkor 105 f/2.8 D suddenly seems to be stuck in limited focusing mode. The LIMIT/FULL switch seems not to function. It is now also very hard to change from A to M (auto to manual) (yes, I depressed the A-M button lock). Has anyone experienced this with this lens and have a simple fix ? Does it need to go to the repair shop ? If so, Nikon or another recommendation ? Thanks.
alex_lofquist
I tried to simulate your problem with my lens on the F5. My 105mm Micro Nikkor is over ten years old, but still operates in all modes. It would seem that you are in for a repair bill.
patrick smith
Now, when you say "The LIMIT/FULL switch seems not to function," do you mean it moves but has no effect? If so, then I imagine some sort of piece that connects it to the drive system has broken off. The resulting jam would make it hard to shift from A to M. What body are you doing this on? roger mitchell
re: the LIMIT/FULL switch - the switch moves but has no effect. I've use the lens with great results for about 1 year (eBay purchase) and I use it mostly on my N90s but have been trying it out on my D70 which was when it started the problem. If repair is necessary, is it best sent to Nikon or does someone suggest a better repair facility ? Again, thanks.
