gary_deal
My Eastman Improved, which is virtually identical, without lens, lensboard, or rear extension rail, weighs in at about nine pounds or a little over four kilos. For hauling weight add the mass of a lens and board, and a pound or so for the extension rail. Plus tripod, filmholders, water, food, etc. Dagor77 (aka C.P. Goerz?) has said that the 8x10 shooter lives the life of luxury, because he has porters to carry his equipment. What I want to know is, where the heck are my porters?! All I've got helping me is an eleven year old girl, and a small one at that. Then again, how many eleven year old girls get to shoot 8x10? For shipping weight, add 3-5 pounds (1.5 - 2.5 kilos) for proper packing and boxing. Proper packing is well worth the extra freight cost. -Gary
