wen_lin
I know (have tried it myself) that AFS lenses work with the F90X, now what I need to know is, when I put a HSM lens on the F90X, would the camera's motor, or the lens's motor drive the focus. If there is one place where I can get answers, it's HERE :) Thanks guys !
armando j. heredia
There's no screwdrive connection, but there is an aperture ring, so you'll get nominal metering using the lens. However, it will become a manual focus lens.
vedearduff
Armando, the N90s/F90x body is compatible with AF-S lenses so why would this combination be limited to manual focus? Wen, the motor in the lens would drive the focus. Vernon
armando j. heredia
I thought the F90/N90/S/X didn't have the 10-pin contacts to support the AFS technology. It seemed limited to the newer generation of cameras starting with the N80/F100...
vedearduff
The only AF lens compatibility issues with the N90s/F90x bodies are that VR is not supported and the G series are problematic if you want to use Aperture Priority or Manual exposure. I don't own any AF-S lenses but I have tested the 80-200mm f/2.8 AF-S and the 28-70mm f/2.8 AF-S lenses on my N90s and had full AF functionality. james_c._turner
The Sigma HSM works perfect on the F90X, I had both. Focuses incredibly fast and quietly. I sold the F90X and bought a F100 and D1H. But am still using this awesome lens. Good luck.
wei_zhang
I guess I must be the unlucky one. Mine Sigma 50-500mm HSM lens only works (in term of AF) correctly with Nikon digital bodies. I haven't tried the F100 yet, but it sometimes focuses and sometimes doesn't on my N90s for some reason.
