tamara_plush
I just bought the Nikon D70... and have a Speedlight SB-28 flash. The Flash goes off when attached and I take a photo, but it doesn't seem to read the D70 information about ISO, App or Shutter Speed. Any settings I need to change? Is it compatible? eric friedemann
You need an SB-600 or SB-800 for the D70: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=323882&is=USA http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=300467&is=USA
k_michael
The flash is not compatible to the camera. You needd a DX flash for the D70. Only the Fuji S2 works with older flashes. I use a 7 year old Metz 45 series with my S2 and it works fine. That's why I went Fuji. I didn't want to Start buying new fla$he$.
chuck
Actually, DX flash is largely incompatible with D70. You need a flash with 3 digit model number (SB-600 and SB-800) for D70
j.luis aranda
Tamara, don't rush to get a new flash. The SB-28 and D70 are not completely incompatible, at least in theory. True you won't get the new iTTL stuff, but you may not want it after all. It all depends on your way of working with flash.
Auto and Manual modes should work OK. In Manual you need to tell the flash the aperture in the camera.
Well, you may already checked the thread I pointed you to, but just in case you felt lazy. :)
Cheers,
-jl-
k_michael
I didn't know that about the three digit flashes.
