very small crack in the extrim side of the lens.does it affect picture?

i have one zuiko 50mm 1.4 lens with a small(approx 2mm) crack in the

extrim side of the front element which can be seen fully only if the

lens barrel is open.i did not use the lens for this reason.but now i

want to use it.

will it affect the picture .

It probably wont be noticeable except under extreme conditions, like having the Sun in view, and probably only when used wide open. Even then you may not be able to see any degradation. If you have a hood for the lens, use it. A small crack should have a similar effect to a speck of dust, reflecting a little unwanted light into the lens.
