ethan_adler
I will be going to Montreal next June and was wondering the bestplaces to hike in Quebec within a reasonable distance from Montreal. Iwill of course be looking for some beautiful nature pics. An area withlots of animals would be great. Also, recommendations of locationsthat haven't become overrun with tourists would be a plus. Thanks in advance,-Ethan
tomsheridan
From an ex-Montrealer ... There is excellent hiking in Montreal itself, on Mount Royal in the center of the city. And there's the Lachine Canal hiking-cycling trail that start by the waterfront. Out of town there's an excellent walking-cycling trail that used to be an old railroad line linking Montreal to the Laurentians. The trail starts in St-Jerome and continues through scenic hills past Mont-Tremblant all the way to Mont-Laurier. There are several entry points, and the section Prevost to Mont-Tremblant is well worth doing. There are also excellent trails in Mont-Tremblant provincial park (which is separate from the ski resort). Hope this helps.

Good luck
