david_brogan
Today someone just pointed out to me that the aperture is not completely visible in the HP finder of my F3/T. I can see the very top of the number and the bottom row of knurles on the aperture ring. Am I doing something wrong? Is the mirror misaligned somehow? I was going to take it to a somewhat local nikon repair shop because I want to sell it and I am a bit shocked this is not just right. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thank You, Dave Brogan
dm2
Don't be offended, but I have to ask - did you have a non-AI lens on this body when you saw this problem? The aperture numbers on those lenses aren't visible in the F3 finders.
patrick smith
It's more of a prism problem, if it is a problem, because I don't recall the mirror playing any role in the ADR setup. Correct me if I'm wrong. If there is a problem, it is as simple as swapping out prisms.
Robert_Lai
There are small mirrors in the ADR setup which can get out of alignment. The usual cause is a sudden shock of some type. Did you ever drop the camera or the prism? The local repair shop should be able to adjust the alignment for you, but it may not be cheap, as adjusting these mirrors are apparently quite fiddly.
