mani_varadarajan
I just discovered the online printing service winkflash.com. They are offering a special summer deal where shipping is free irrespective of quantity. I tried one batch (recently got a Digital Rebel) of matte and the prints were low contrast, a little washed out, but acceptable. The paper used was Fuji Crystal Archive. I'm going to try with some curves adjusted images, since the problem may be my files, but meanwhile I wanted to ask if others had experience with this service. I particularly want to know about consistency, color accuracy, etc. At the price they're offering (18c for 4x6) it's pretty tempting.
jordan2240
Mani, I didn't know Winkflash had added a matte option, but I'll be anxious to try it since the one set of glossies I got from them was good, but I hate glossies. Can't really address your question, but I did want to make you aware that Adorama apparently has a new site, www.adoramapix.com, and they are charging only 19 cents per print. I've had several orders processed through the old Adorama site in the past, and they have been very consistent and very good. The Kodak Royal paper they print on really has a nice finish and is quite thick. Adorama doesn't have free shipping though. Bill
mike_arzumanov
I ordered 50 prints from them December 5th, it's the 15th already and it still says "processing" on the website, although their ad said "usually processed the same day". Very disappointed.
geris_k
I just received about 50 prints from Winkflash that I took with a 5.0 megapixel Sony DSC-V1. I was shocked by how good the Winkflash prints were. In fact, they were so good it made me depressed that I just upgraded my trusty Epson 870 to a 1270. The color was very good, but I wish that they'd allow customers to upload Adobe RGB and maintain the color profile throughout. Otherwise, they convert everything to sRGB themselves. patricklove
I sent them a large order of 11x14s 20x30, 8x12s. They all came back too saturated or contrasty, however you want to describe it. Too bad, cause their prices and service are great.
k_s20
i became a member of photo.net just to tell the world that winkflash burned me I am in the process of making a website to tell everyone about their unfair practices. I ordered 9 photobooks from them, the quality was very very bad, with pixels and such and when I returned it, they charged me $40 for shipping and refunded the rest to me.... Customer service 1/10 and the 1 point is for returning emails. Management is in on this....
