goya_lau
I have finally got the Canon EF70-200mm F2.8L IS USM Lens today. This is my first IS Lens, I have a question about IS Lens - When I set the STABILIZER switch to ON, and press the shutter button down halfway to focus something,I can hear some noise like "DIDA" ... when the shutter button is pressed down halfway continuously, some small noise can be heard. However, when the STABILIZER switch to OFF, the Lens is very quiet. Is it normal?
ulrich_brandl
Some noise is quite normal while the stabilizer is turned on. The electromechanical components of IS are active all the time while the shutter is halfway pressed down, not only if you shake the lens. dave_nelson___atlanta__ga
That is the image stabilization goodness hard at work and is normal.
