diana
I've been reading the SB-50 and SB-80 info at Amazon and it seems tohint that these flashs used an unusual size battery instead of AA's. Are these batteries for the Sb-50/80 dx available in a rechargable form? I'm rather bummed about their battery selection since I just bought abunch of rechargable AA's. Thanks! arnabdas
The SB-50dx uses those pricey CR-123 batteries which I've heard is available in rechargeable format from a certain manufacturer, haven't seen one though. The SB-80dx uses AA cells -- rechargeable types are available in plenty, and should work well -- especially the NiMH ones.
hal_bissinger
The SB-50DX is the only flash that doesn't use AA batteries which should tell you something about the flash. You would be much better off with the SB-80DX or the SB-800DX
brandonhamilton
The 80Dx is fanstastic, but is getting harder to come by since the 800. I have two sets of GP2100 MAH rechargable Nimh batteries. They are awesome, last forever, and can save you TONS of cash on AAs.
spencer_hahn
SB-50dx batteries are available at www.2cr5.co.uk (they're NiMH with CR123a form factor). That's the only company I know of that sells them. I wouldn't buy an SB-50dx anyway (not powerful enough), but that's just me.
spencer_hahn
Sorry, I meant to say "Rechargeable SB-50dx batteries..."
diana
Thank-you! I saw that one of them used the odd batteries and assumed that both used the same size. Thanks for the great answers. (as always!)
