straightarm
I'm sure one of the custom funcions will allow this Simon In black and white, everyone's a hero!
mark u
I'm not really sure why you would want to do this unless you are trying to test battery life. You can use a home made remote control with a toggle switch to give the equivalent of a half press (which starts AF and metering) without having to hold the shutter down (see www.chantalcurrid.com for the basic theory). Perhaps even a mono 2.5mm jack plug will suffice if you are still going to use the shutter button for actually firing the shutter. Look at the following for advice on this idea (ignore the AI Servo stuff that only applies to Rebels): http://www.xmldatabases.org/WK/blog/1454_Digital_Rebel_Hack_No._2_-_Full_time_AI_Servo.item
michael_villarmia
Custom function 4 will move the AF to *, if thats any help. Why would you need it on all the time?
monoxide
Maybe AI Servo AF is what you want?
