Camera to Laptop System

Recommended Posts

I have heard that a digital camera can be connected to a laptop PC

by using software and a connection(usually would be USB) by now.I took

some pictures with my Kodak LS443 camera last year and made desktop

wall paper from them. I now wanted a system that I could see the

picture that I wanted, up to at least this laptop size photo so to

better

be able to decide when it would be best to take the pictures. But I

asked Kodak if they knew, and the answer was not yet. So I was

wondering, and was told that a Canon G3/G5 & A80 could be

live/tethered and also a Minolta A1.I was thinking about the Minolta

Dimage (Konica) Z1. This camera is for sale from $229 to $399, and as

money goes is quite resonable with 3Mega Pixels being plenty. The 10X

manual zoom feature is great for me. My Kodak EasyShare LS443 has 4MP

(3x3.2dz)

and is more than I needed usually if I could only see the damn picture

with more than 1 3/8 x 7/8 inch window. I wouldn't have to do so much

other than shoot and lightly crop and color edit. This live/tethering

way seems to be the way too go. You know to really see-shoot-edit and

then resize to screen resolution and then most is done. This means

more time out there looking for a better photo, with less time wasted.

Thanks for the comments from my last Question.

PS I will try to upload a pic called TREES later so you can see.
008VLS-18331084.jpg.57ba2974c874b987a2521b9ce94c4cd7.jpg

I'm unsure why you would want to do this. The only application I can really think of is

shooting in a studio. Anyway... Minolta sells the DiMAGE Capture software that will allow

you to do this with the A1 and A2.
A search at BH reveals two versions, one for A1 and one for A2 and I am unsure what the

difference is.
