Sandeha Lynch
<p>"Just like the original Rollei, the MiniDigi has a 'film advance' crank lever on its side. Although it uses no film, a turn of this crank readies the camera for the next shot." <p> That's got to be the best laugh I've had all week. todd_k.
It is about time someone released a square format digital camera. Now if only it were an 8 megapixel camera with auto and full manual control...
peter_white2
You view on an LCD screen. So it looks as though the upper lens isn't really a lens at all, just there for yucks. If so, it's truly a new low for Rollei.
steve_swinehart
...a 2 megapixel "fashion accessory."
douglas_green1
Given the rest of this camera's specs, I'd be willing to bet that they just took an existing 3 Megapixel rectangular sensor and masked off the sides to get a 2 megapixel square sensor. I wonder what they are going to charge for this retro fashion statement.
Aoresteen
This was discussed a while back. $300 seemed to be the price as I recall. It's due out this summer in Japan. No word on the USA yet.

godfrey
Jeez folks. Lighten up. It is cute, and it is functional, and it should be fun. So it isn't a "classic German photographic machine". Big deal. Godfrey
thomas_diekwisch1
Jeez, Godfrey, all kind of things and people are cute, no question. I guess different people have different taste. Which is probably good for Rollei. It's clearly not what I consider cute... Just waiting for a Mickey Mouse Rollei - psssst. But how about offering an affordable back for their 6000 series? Instead, they are waisting their energies on gimmicks.
jim_gifford
Now all we need is a miniMetz handle-mount flash (I think you might fit one AAA battery in the handle?) and a teensy Velcro-attached Lumiquest Microbounce. This would be handy if they ever bring "Land of the Giants" back on TV. Be well,
