matt_spitzer
The few correctly exposed shots on the first roll shot with thislittle gem are extremely encouraging. Since I shoot slide film, Iwould really like to be able to control my exposure in 1/3 stops. Does anyone know if it is possible to set the aperature in partialstops on a GS645w? By this I mean, if I set the aperature ringbetween f/8 and f/11, will it stop down to an intermediate value, orwill it set the aperature to a preset value of either f/8 or f/11? I would like to say I checked the owner's manual before posting this, but I have not yet had any luck finding one. If anyone knows where Ican get an owners' manual (Craig Camera appears to only have one forthe GS645s) I would appreciate that info as well. Thanks. -Matt Spizer
gary_a._hill
As it is a strictly mechanical camera, presumably using a cam for aperture control, it works fine with the dial set at intermediate positions. The problem is that as it is uncalibrated, you are not likely to get 1/3 stop accuracy. I suggest settling for one intermediate stop, not two. You won't find anything in the manual about this. mark_edward_seel
You can find an electronic version of the manual for this camera on Ebay. Just do a search under Fuji GS645W and it should come up. It's a download in PDF format.
aric_rothman
I have used the GS645S model. It allows for infinitely variable control of the aperture size, but only has detents at whole stops. Also, while it allows setting the aperture to fractional stops, the internal meter might only recognize whole stops.
kevin_sido1
I have used the Fuji GS 645, GS 645s, and GS 645W; yes, it is certainly possible to set the aperture at intermediate stops. You do end up using your best guess, however.
