Best Price For B&W Photo Paper?

Hi all,

 

I've been comparing prices of enlarging paper on line as of late

and am not finding any deals. Everywhere is about the same I

can get in town.

 

I'd also like to try something different. I've been using Forte VC

Glossy for a while. I used to love the Zone VI Brilliant but the local

Calumet doesn't stock as much and it not so local.

 

Any ideas?

I like to support local dealers when possible - along the lines of use 'em or lose 'em. ;-)

 

As to paper, my fave is Ilford's MGIV fiber-base, in either cold or warm tone depending on the image and my mood. I use Agfa Multicontrast liquid developer because it is the least expensive concentrate, and the 1/2 liter bottles are very convenient.

EBAY- I picked up a box of 100 sheets of Ilford Multigrade IV Pearl from a seller in Vermont for I think $26 (forget exace price) and about another $6 for shipping. The paper is fine.

I forgot to add that was for RC paper. I try to use local people when possible but my last purchase of a box of 100 was around $50. But I still spend a lot there for chemicals and packets of 25.

Warren, have you tried B&H (www.bhphotovideo.com) in New York? Like Ralph, I also use mostly Ilford papers, but usually prefer Agfa's Neutol WA (warm tone) developer.

I haven't done any comparison in price but Steve, a local guy always tries to give the best price he can offer which is good enough for me. Granted, I am not a pro and don't use thousands in a week.

I love Oriental VC paper. It has very nice tones and works well for me. I order it from B&H because it is easy and they have good prices.

I like and use Oriental Seagull G graded paper. Old-fashioned, yes, but it's inexpensive and produces beautiful prints.
