stefano_kustermann
Hello,I'd like to know if I must cock manually the leaf shutter every time I shoot a picture in the LS mode.My intention would be to shoot pictures of owls flying back to their nest at night. I need 1/500 or max. 1/250 sec. otherwise the bird will not turn out sharp. So i need the LS function. But can you imagine the hustle of climbing up a tree at night after every shot?Triggering the camera from far away is not a problem because I managed to adapt the cable switch A to a gate remote control which I use also with my Pentax LX.All the pictures I've seen of this kind are taken with Hasselblad cameras, but since I'm faithful to Pentax and own a Pentax 645, so I'd love to stick to it. frank_kimble
Stefano, you have the camera and remote trigger in hand. Shouldn't take but a couple seconds to verify how it works.
stefano_kustermann
Yes Frank, I've got the camera and the remote trigger right with me, but I haven't got the 135/4 LS lens, so I cannot try... As you probably know, you can set the camera in the LS mode only with a LS lens on.
greg_lawhon
Stefano: Unfortunately for your intended use, the 135mm/f4 leaf shutter lens for the Pentax 645 must be manually cocked each time it is fired. That is accomplished by turning a ring on the lens barrel. GL
