edmond
is it worth to buy a used Rollei 6008 professional in USD 1300? the set included the 6008 professional body, waist level, finder, 6006 film back, rolleigon 80mm/2,8 lens, 3 batteries, charger, grip and poloroid back, is it a nice price? also i wanna know whether 6006 film back is a standard film back for Rollei 6008 professional? as i can't find out the information on the film back of 6008 professional, i wanna know here. also if it's not standard, then if using 6006 film back, is there any difference? any missing functions? lastly, as i am newbie in medium format camera, what should i check during the trade? fwstutterheim
The standard back for a 6008 prof would be a 6008 back. There was a discussion on this topic on this forum a little while ago. You will find it easily. This kit really is not standard. The Rolleigon is a cheaper lens. The standard lens would be a 2.8/80 mm Planar or Xenotar. I am not suggesting the Rolleigon is bad, but one of the virtues of the Rollei system is using first class Zeiss and Schneider glass. I cannot comment on the price, as I am not familiar with your local market conditions. At the end of the day this offer would not be my choice: wrong lens and (probably) wrong back. Check all functions with all batteries, one or more batteries could be "on the way out".
ike k
No, it's not worth. You'd better get newer model like integral and probably only couple hundred dollar more with PQ lens. Ike
james_falconer
Try rollei dealers like kurland photo. Used 6008i and 80mm pq are going for very cheap nowadays.
douglas_green1
IMHO, you should either bump it up a notch and pay $1800-2000 and get a nearly new 6008i with a PQ lens, or else you should drop down a notch and get a nice 6006 with a non-PQ 80mm Planar for around $800 or less. I went the latter route, and also picked up an SLX-II body as a really inexpensive backup, and ended up with 2 bodies, 2 batteries, and an 80mm lens for under $1000 In my opinion, there is very little functional difference between a 6006 and a 6008 to justify the cost differential of around $500.
