ion_sokhos
Hello, I am wondering if anyone who has used either/both of these units can comment on their ability, specifically with the hasselblad 503cw. I am looking for a strong on camera flash to be used for photojournalism/candids. I am looking for an effect similar to that of Brian Finke's work. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Best, Ion
stan_strembicki
I own a D Flash and have used the Quantum Q and I like the D Flash a little more, however, if your needing a flash to use with other cameras, the Q will be more usefull. The D flash, I found to be accurate, and reliable. I use mine with a Quantum external battery and I was given a Sunpack external for it, but prefer the Quantum battery
danny_liao
I've used both the D40 and Q Flash on my 503cw. The D40 is good but does not compare to the Q Flash. The Q Flash works like a little strobe pack with many function settings...manual, multi, auto, and personal settings. Yes, it's slightly bigger and you have to carry around a seperate battery pack but the functionality and power is well worth it. You could also put it on a stand and us it as a portable strobe unit. Of course, this is going to cost you more...Q Flash and Turbo Z battery will run you about $800.00.
